Swimming to the Caves In the North Of Stoer Bay |
This picture was taken at the North end of Stoer bay. If you look in the middle right of the picture and follow the sea, that's the entrance to a cave. Yuo can swim it as these people are, and at low tide the back of the cave is dry. |

View of Clachtoll and Salmon Bothy |
This shows the Split Rock and the old Salmon bothy. Salmon fishing used to me a source of income in this area, and the Salmon bothy is open in season for visitors. |

North from Drumbeg |
North of Clachtoll there is the small village of Drumbeg, whith a lovley general store, vegeatable shop, and hotel. The seafood served in the hotel is wonderful. This is the view looking north from near Drumbeg. |

People in the Water |
In summer the beach is the focus of the area, and people will be out in the water. The beach itself is quite shallow for some distance and children (and adults if they wish) can jump off the surrounding rocks. |

Wildlife |
This photo was taken from nearby a boat trip from Kylesku (See Things to Do). The boat trip is a wonderful way to see a lot of the wildlife. |

Stac Pollaidh
Stac Pollaidh |
Stac Pollaidh is one of the Assynt landmark. As mountains go it is actually pretty accessable, and many people in the west coast probably use this as their first hill. Its 'jagginess' is typical of the Assynt hills.

The Bay by the Old Mill |
We discovered this on a walk from Clachtoll to Achmelvich, following the coastline. It is also accesable via the road, and featutes a lovley little bay, a perfect place to stop for a picnic. |

More Water |
Some people find the water addictive, and once you are hooked, a wonderful time can be had. Believe it or not, when the tide is right and the water is calm you can snorkel around the rocks, looking out for small fish and crabs. However it is the seaweed that looks remarkable under the water. |

Inland Lochs |
If you look at the OS map of the area, inland, it seems as if there might be more water than land. Countless inland lochs, offer something for the walker and fisherman alike. |

Stoer Bay |
The next bay to the north Stoer is more exposed, for those with a Body Board, its worth a visit, and you can visit a Broch on the way. |

Britains Highest Waterfalls |
The boat trip from Kylesku takes you to Britains highest waterfall. It is possible to walk to them, but they are more impressive from the bottom. |
